How did you get introduced to photography?
I started studying photography 7 years ago and gradually this activity has become my passion. I love painting, and the camera gives me the opportunity to realize this in the photos.
Are there any photographers that have inspired you, or that you feel have really influenced your work?
Yes, of course, in the history of photography many amazing photographers, whose works help to see the top of the photography and forced to move forward among the most beloved – works of Julia Cameron. Her portraits are striking surprisingly soulful state models.
What subject is your favorite to shoot or inspires you more?
Of course, it is a portrait. First of all, I’m interested in people and their experiences that I can peek through the peephole of camera.
How would you describe your style or vision for taking photos?
As I said, I love painting, and therefore in my photo works I aspire to picturesque. The psychological component of the portrait – the emotions, the feelings are also very important to me.
What are some elements by which you judge a good photo?
In addition to the technical side of photography (composition, light design) is important to me that picture contains some message and story.
When you photograph, do you have a theme in mind?
Yes of course. When I invite a model for a photo session, I always know what I’m going to shoot and pre-think over costume and accessories.
Can you tell us about your editing process as well as what some of your favorite techniques are?
I do post-processing in Photoshop, and especially like to use textures that allow you to create the effect of old paintings – cracks, abrasions, etc.
What kind of equipment do you use? What is your favorite walkaround lens?
I photograph on the Canon 5D Mark III. Most my favorite lens – Canon lens EF 50mm, f1.4.
Thanks so much for your time, is there anything else that you would like to add or share?
I do not like to give advice, because I am sure that every artist goes his own way, and each artist is unique. However, I am confident that the uniqueness can be born only where there is a kind of creative pantry and life experience
